Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn met the delegates of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine to discuss formation of the social part of the State Budget, the pension reform, and the Labour Code.
Representatives of the trade unions, People´s Deputy Vasyl Khara in particular, stressed that if the pension reform is adopted in the current version, ‘public discontent will grow´, as ‘for 20 years of independence Ukraine has not had a law similar to the law on pension reform that took so much money from the people.´ Therefore, trade unions call for creating a legislative framework to integrate shadow businesses into official economy, change the social insurance system, and increase the salary fund. The trade unions declared that if the law on pension reform is adopted, it should be improved.
V.Lytvyn stated that this conversation was slightly belated. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine informed about adoption of this law, and explained the amendments to be scrutinized on Tuesday, if the draft resolution abolishing the pension law is rejected.
Still, he supported the participants of the meeting in part of reforming the system of labour remuneration, and called for creating new workplaces.
V.Lytvyn suggested holding the national dialogue about the topical tasks for the country.
